While Rest is a basic human necessity it is often thought of as a luxury, it is not. Rest is essential to our wellbeing.
What does it mean to rest? One might think that resting is simply the ceasing of work, movement, and stressful activities in order to relax, refresh oneself, and recover strength. Yet, how often do you take a day “off” and fill that time with other responsibilities or continue to mentally run through the items on your “to-do” list waiting for you when you return from “resting.” When was the last time you intentionally withdrew from the world to create space between yourself and the outside world for stillness, peace, and connection to your deepest Self?
In yoga, the practice of withdrawing the senses is called Pratyahara. There are eight limbs as taught in Patanjali’s yoga sutras. Pratyahara is the 5th limb, and it involves the intentional withdrawing of the senses to go inward to connect with your true Self, it is often related to a turtle retreating into its shell. In a world where our senses are over stimulated, developing a relationship with pratyahara allows one to create opportunities for rest daily. Pratyahara is an essential step in the practice of Yoga Nidra. Yoga means “union” and Nidra means “sleep”; Yoga Nidra is form of meditation. One is invited inward to dance within the space of wakefulness and sleep where states of optimal rest and relaxation can be reached.
Yoga Nidra is a beautiful and accessible yoga practice. Often practiced comfortably lying down, you are gently guided through states of consciousness, bringing oneself into a deep resting state while remaining awake and aware. Yoga Nidra can help release tensions in the body, mind, and emotional states. The practice of Yoga Nidra activates the relaxation response within the body (counteracting fight or flight responses), helping to restore the nervous system, improve insomnia, reduces anxiety, improves chronic pain symptoms, and supports healthy brain functioning.
“It takes courage to say yes to rest and play in culture where exhaustion is seen as a status symbol.” Brene Brown
Beloved, as we approach this hustle and bustle of the holiday season, I invite you to prioritize your Self-care. Remember to rest.

What people have to say
I recently experienced this amazing sound therapy for the first time on the Autumn equinox.
The ceremony was incredible. The sound from the crystal singing bowls combined with Heidi’s voice and the tonal drum were magical. The message that was given was one that I needed to hear. I would definitely recommend this kind of sound therapy as a way to relax and let the sound heal you.
Thank you Heidi, I know I will definitely be back!

Heidi’s sound bath allowed the listener to open up their minds to new sounds and sensations. Her crystal bowls allowed the audience to mediate with each of the sounds to unlock negative feelings, let go of past woes, and begin a journey towards healing . For me it signified clarity of my soul path and it will do that for other listeners too. I highly recommend Heidi ‘s sound bath as part of your soul’s journey !

Monday before the full moon of the month
The moon influences all living creatures and our planet. We see it in the tides and weather. We feel it in our emotions and body. What if we can harness this powerful energy to excel in our business and personal lives?
I was introduced to Moon Cycle Planning by two of my mentors, Karen Kessler & Karen Collacutt. I always used the phases of the moon for personal focus, but business planning?? Light Bulb Moment!!! This process was life changing for me and I stopped feeling burned out around all that “had“ to be done.
New moon is a time of resting, introspection, evaluating what went well last cycle, what needs to change and setting our focus for the next cycle.
At the full moon the energy is highest, time to check in on our focus. Are we on track? What can we celebrate and what do we want to release or decommit to?
Join me each month the Monday before the new moon to celebrate, co-create and plan the next cycle. This is a group of women who embrace lifting each other up, supporting and celebrating what each of us is creating, and enjoy being in community.
You can join in person or through Zoom. The day starts at 9 am and goes until 3 pm. We plan, share what we are working on, bounce ideas off each other and do our new moon cycle planning (there are worksheets provided for this).
There is a virtual check-in on the Monday closest to the full moon. We evaluate where we are in our cycle focus and shift if we need to. This takes about an hour.
For those joining in person, $50 includes a delicious lunch.
Virtual joining is $30 (make sure to have a delicious lunch for yourself, maybe even have friends join you). For more information email or call

My favorite thing in the whole world is seeing my clients become their own best friend and stop the mean girl inside. I have taken the program I do with individuals and created a group format.
This program runs 3 months and takes a deep dive into ourselves and have the support of great people also wanting to know themselves deeply and evolve.
This is for you if you are ready to release the old behaviors that no longer serve.
